It seems as if the Spring 2018 Semester had only just begun. Yet, somehow, time had managed to pass us with just one simple blink.
… And with that dreadful blink, Midterms Week is, unfortunately, upon us. (*cue the uncontrollable sobbing*)
While often being described as a stressful, sleepless and overwhelming week, Midterms Week tends to put everyone in a state of misery. However, it doesn’t have to - not if you create a schedule and plan ahead.
With that being said, here is a five-step survival guide on How To: Survive Midterms Week.Step One: Make A Schedule:
Midterms, for the most part, happen in each and every class. Thus, consider this an essential step, especially if you are a Full-Time Student taking four or five classes. It is necessary and important to devote time to each and every one of those. That, of course, does not mean that an equal amount of time should be allotted among all of the courses. Determine which class, (or classes - that is okay!), you are struggling with the most and devote a little extra time to them.
Step Two: Create A Study Group:
Sometimes, studying alone can get really difficult and tedious. There is simply too much information to learn and retain. Therefore, why not get together with a few classmates for a study session or two? Not only can the work be split up among all the individuals in the group, but it can also make the task of studying a little less tedious, as you will realize that you are not alone in what some also refer to as “hell week.”
Step Three: Ask Questions:
Granted that you aren’t only starting to study the night before the exam and that there are still a couple of days left before the exam - do not be afraid to ask questions! That is how we learn. There is no such thing as a silly question. For all you know, the question that you aren’t too sure about may just be the one that is asked on the exam. Don’t risk it!
Step Four: Take A (Small) Break:
It is inevitable that you will surrounded by your laptop, textbooks, worksheets and other materials that are sure to, within just the first few hours, make your head SPIN. Therefore, don’t be afraid to take a break for an hour or two. I’ll admit it - studying is good and all, but over-studying can sometimes take a negative toll. Thus, pace yourself. (This should come easy, though, especially if you follow Step One!).
Step Five: Just Breathe:
It can be quite easy to get caught up with everything during this hectic period, but don’t forget to Just Breathe. One bad grade does not, and will not, mean the end of the world. Just remember and know that you are doing everything you can. Breath because the craziness will soon be all over.

Good Luck! And...
