Black Friday. A day in America that people either love, or hate. Personally, I love it. I will say that I am not one of the die hard Black Friday shoppers who goes on Thanksgiving night. However I admit that I always wake up early in the morning and go shopping with my mom and sister. We love waking about 5 or 6 in the morning, and going to Target. There are so many things on sale in Target on Black Friday that you had no idea you needed. Here are some tips for surviving Black Friday.
1. Come with coupons in hand
Coupons are great. Some stores don't require you to have any coupons, but it's always better to be safe!
2. Know the deals for each store you want to hit
I promise looking through the Black Friday ads will help. It gives you a game plan for where in the store you'll hit.
3. Schedule your day
Budgeting time is key. Spend at the most an hour and a half in Target, then head over to the mall. Whatever is best for you. A schedule will help make sure you get everywhere you want to go as fast as possible.
4. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes
There is no need to look cute for Black Friday. You will probably be standing the majority of the time, so comfort is very important.
5. Don’t be afraid to be aggressive
You want that pair of boots, too. Just don't cause a scene over a simple pair of boots.
6. Pack a water and snack
You're gonna get hungry waiting in line for the iPhone X. You'll also be thirsty after having to run all the way to the back of the store to get to the clearance rack. Hydration and nourishment are important tools to surviving the day.
7. Be patient
The lines are going to be long getting into stores. The crowds in the stores will be worse, resulting in long lines to check out. Breathe, it's all worth it in the end. You are almost done with your intense shopping.
8. Don't forget to spend time with your family!
At times, Black Friday can overshadow the true holiday, Thanksgiving. The stores are opening earlier and earlier on Thursday night, and cutting into quality family time. Remember that coming home for the week is all about family, not about getting the best deals. While you might be shopping on Black Friday to hit those stores for gifts for your family and friends, spending time with them is the best gift they could ever get.
9. Or, just wait for Cyber Monday
If you are afraid of crowds on Black Friday (which is totally understandable), Cyber Monday will have great deals too! Just go to your favorite stores' website, and you might even get free shipping.
