A small business cannot thrive without the support of the community. Small businesses need people like us to support them. Part of being a community is focusing more on our local businesses than on our chain businesses. Chain businesses are more well known than local businesses. Local businesses are easier to close. To keep a local business from closing, you would need a lot of people to know about it. People would have to go there and spend most of their time there. Supporting our local businesses will help improve our economy and help us so that we don’t have to pay a lot of taxes. The fewer businesses that we have, the more taxes we will have to pay. We need to keep our businesses open to reduce the amount of taxes we will have to pay.
Spend time visiting those businesses and spend some money on them. They will appreciate you for it when they don't get shut down. Support your local businesses and let people know about it. Especially if you absolutely love that business. There is a new business in my town called Homestead Creamery. It's about two years old. They are reopened this year because a lot of people cared enough about them to tell their friends, so they got a lot of business. The boys who own it are the ones I went to high school with. They worked together to save up their money to open their own business. If it weren't for their hard work and determination, they wouldn't be where they are today. Now that I've mentioned it, everyone should stop by Homestead Creamery in North Smithfield and get some ice cream. It's a local business and they need your help!
