Celebrity endorsements have been very important in past elections, as they have the financial power to hold grand dinners, raise funds, and promote their candidate on an extravagant scale. That being said, it is surprising that a group of 128 artists and cultural leaders have officially voiced their support for the only candidate that has refused to take money from SuperPacs or the super wealth, Bernie Sanders. In fact, Sanders wants to raise taxes on a majority of these people and the corporations some are affiliated with. It stands to reason that Sanders should be the last person they would endorse but here they are, "feeling the Bern."

While there are several people on this list that I consider heroes already (like Doctor Patch Adams), I believe many of them may be moonlighting as caped crusaders.

1. Will Ferrell

Will Ferrell is Dr. Strange. He’s the right height (Dr.Strange is 6’2”; Ferrell is 6’3”). He also has a magical energy that causes everyone around him to laugh uncontrollably. Plus, Strange is an expert at mesmerizing, manipulating and illusion casting, all three of which Ferrell mastered during his time at “SNL.”

2. Steve Wozniak

Apple Co-Founder, investor, engineer, filthy rich philanthropist….Iron Man? Is that you? Why are you calling yourself ‘The Woz’? Wozniak is one of the most successful American inventors and has worked closely with young Americans as an adjunct professor. I’m guessing Wozniak doesn’t believe that Bernie’s socioeconomic policies regarding welfare would kill the motivation of Americans…

3. Dr. Cornell West

High level of intellect? Check. Well educated in arts and sciences? Check. Instructor and educator? Check. Dr. West is The Beast. He has written over 20 books and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Harvard before going to Princeton to get his Masters and PhD. He has a deep understanding of sociocultural relations in America. I also get the feeling he will tear the opposition to shreds in a political debate.

4. Sarah Silverman

With her black, sardonic sense of humor, Silverman must be Raven from the DC Universe. Raven is known for her emotional manipulation, and Silverman has viciously roasted quite a few celebrities in her standup comedy.

5. Justin Long

If you haven’t seen Justin Long as Robin in the short parody “Robin’s Big Date,” I suggest you go watch it right now. That isn’t the only reason Long has probably been masquerading as the Dark Knight's sidekick. He is sweet, polite and looks like he’d say things like “Holly flight plan Batman!” with a straight face.

6. Dr. Patch Adams

Patch Adams was made famous in a film starring Robin Williams based on Adams' life and views on medicine. He runs an institute that has a strict policy of free health care. No wonder why he loves Bernie! Healthcare should be a right not a privilege in a developed country like America! Patch Adams already sounds like a superhero’s secret identity. Plus he literally saves lives! I didn’t link him to a superhero because well, he already is one.

7. Nikki Reed

While she is publicly known for her role as Rosalie in the film Twilight, Nikki is secretly Elektra. Elektra has been resurrected (like a vampire) in her comic history. Nikki has also starred as a gun slinging assassin in the film Catch 44. Elektra too has a dark history of being a hired killer.

8. Mark Ruffalo

Ruffalo was one of the very first celebrities to endorse Sanders, who had upward of 100,000 people attend the Democratic Presidential Candidate's rallies around the country. That number continues to skyrocket. It seems that we have an army AND a Hulk.

Ruffalo is perhaps best known for his most recent role as Hulk in Avengers: Age of Ultron, and like this character, is adaptable in both appearance and surroundings. Take a look at that guy's resume!

9. Margaret Cho

Carol Danvers/Ms. Marvel is arguably one of the most liberated, independent and outspoken females in the Marvel Universe. Captain Marvel's female counterpart has also worked as a freelance writer and a magazine editor. Cho is no stranger to writing best-selling books. Coincidence? I think not.

10. Jeremy Piven

Jeremy Piven, better known as Ari Gold from “Entourage” has to be Gambit. Both Gold and Gambit have their main squeezes (Melissa & Rogue respectively). Now, the real Jeremy, unlike Gold, is rumored to be quite the ladies' man which further links him with the smooth talking, card-slinging mutant heartthrob.

11. Zoë Kravitz

The daughter of Lenny Kravitz was Angel Salvador in X-Men: First Class, but I think it's more likely that she is the Marvel superhero Psylocke. Psylocke was originally born into a privileged life, but went through some rough times like Zoe. Psylocke got into modeling at a young age; Zoe did as well. Have you seen Zoe as Christina in the Divergent series? She can kick some serious a$$. She is superhero material for sure.

12. Susan Sarandon

Sarandon auditioned for the role of Catwoman back in the early 90's in Batman Returns, but was clawed out by none other than Michelle Pfeiffer. Over 20 years later, Sarandon’s time has come! Age doesn't matter when it comes to the Bern Squad (I'm assuming you've seen our leader).

13. Ben Foster

Foster made this one easy. He was already Angel in X-Men: The Last Stand. In the past he’s been romantically linked to another X-Men star and Bernie supporter, Zoe Kravitz. Will their paths cross on the stump trail? Will they rekindle their alleged relationship and star in the next X-Men movie together? Who knows! We may have the beginning of a superhero soap opera on our hands.

14. Danny De Vito

De Vito did an outstanding job of playing Penguin in Batman Returns, but I’m guessing he’s actually Wolverine. They both are a little rough around the edges and have a somewhat charming sense of humor. The scruffy bad boy is one of the shortest superheroes in the comic world – only 5’ 3” and De Vito is a mere 3” shy of that.

15. John C. Reilly

Reilly has already played Rhomann Dey in Guardians of the Galaxy. While he was a minor supporting character in the film, Dey’s backstory in the comic world is impressive. He was a leader of the Nova Corps and was one of the few survivors of Zorr’s attack on Xandar…(and I will quickly end my nerd rant before I get carried away.) My point is that Bernie’s team has Dewey Cox aka Rhomann Dey aka Dale the curly-headed stepbrother aka Wreck it Ralph. Bernie is basically bringing Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly together again. Step Brothers 2 anybody?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
