Temperatures are getting hotter and the sun’s getting brighter, which means people are going to start wearing clothing that’ll keep them cooler.

Just in case you don’t know already, there are some things that you shouldn’t point out about people.

You shouldn’t point out someone’s acne or acne scars. They’re probably already well aware of it and are probably actively trying to get rid of them, so don’t point them out.

You shouldn’t point out someone’s body hair. It’s their decision to shave or not to shave.

You also shouldn't point out body hair that is in places you aren't used to it being. It's likely that it's caused by a medial condition, but you still shouldn't point it out.

How much someone sweats is another thing you should not point out. This is out of their control and something they can’t help, which is a great reason why you shouldn’t point it out.

Because of the hotter temperatures, people are likely going to be wearing shorts and tank tops, no matter what their body size is, and you shouldn’t point that out, make comments or take photos because it’s rude. They’re just trying to stay comfortable in this hot weather and are allowed to wear whatever they please.

Same thing also goes for swimming suits. People are going to wear one-pieces, a bikini or even shorts and a tank top. You shouldn’t make fun of their bodies no matter what size they are. Chances are, they are working to lose weight or gain it and are well aware of their size. There’s no need to point it out.

This one is also self-explanatory, but just in case, I’ll cover it too. Scars, whether they are from self-harm, surgery or injury, are another thing about someone that you should not point out. Scars are a reminder that we are real people who having feelings, emotions and experience things that we shouldn’t ever have to go through, but make us stronger as people. Please be nice and do not point them out.

These are things that shouldn’t have to be said, but unfortunately with social media, it kind of has to be.

There are pictures of people all over social media that are being made into memes because they look “different,” have a different body type or any number of things, and these memes, if you even want to call them that, are rude and disrespectful. There are some things that people can’t change or are actively trying to change and you shouldn’t point them out.

Humans come in all shapes and sizes and sometimes they may look different and have different characteristics, but that does not mean that we can make fun or them or point out these differences. It doesn’t mean that they do not see these things or have feelings, so we should be kind and respectful.

So, remember, summer is here and it’s hot outside. People are going to dress to be comfortable and they’re going to go to beaches, waterparks and other places that are fun to go to during the summer. They’re there to have a good time with their friends and family, not to be made fun of.

You wouldn’t like it if someone pointed out something that you couldn’t or were trying to actively change about yourself, so you should not point out those things about other people.

If you see it happening, say something. Stand up for that person. You never know, it could go a long way.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
