Now that Spring Break is over we are all counting down the days until Summer Vacation. But before we lose ourselves in the fun to come, we must remember to do everything we can to get ready for the long-anticipated freedom. Here are ten things to do before Summer Break.

1. Focus on school

While the upcoming break is exciting we have to make sure that we don't let our grades suffer before it comes. Be sure to continue studying and working hard from now until finals, you will regret it if you don't.

2. Make plans with friends

Once summer starts and plans are already made it can be difficult to squeeze in other events, especially if you have to coordinate with other schedules. This being said, make plans ahead of time so that you can be sure to see your friends and have fun over the break.

3. Get that beach body ready

Summer means beach time! Swimsuits on and skin out. Make sure that you are at a place where you are comfortable with your body so that you can enjoy your time in the sun.

4. Look at the Blockbuster line-up

Movies that come out over the summer are always amazing. Be sure to look ahead at what movies are coming out so that you don't miss a good one.

5. Get your tattoos now people

If you are thinking of getting a tattoo then get it now. After you get a tattoo you have to go two weeks without it seeing sunlight so that it can heal and the ink won't fade. That being said, don't wait until June or July to get one because that could throw a wrench in your plans. A tip for those getting white ink, don't use bronzing lotion because it will turn the ink brown.

6. Talk to family out of state

If you have family that lives out of state, the likelihood is that you haven't seen them in a while. Talk to them and make plans now! Maybe they could come down for a week while you are off or maybe you can fly up to see them.

7. Start saving now

Money is a necessity, especially when you are going on vacation. Souvenirs are a must and you can't get them if you are broke. So start saving your birthday money now so that when you go away over the summer you can get yourself something nice to remember the trip by.

8. Make travel arrangements now

Whenever you go somewhere a hotel is a must. Book ahead of time so that you can save money in the long run. The same goes for airplane tickets. Be sure to shop around and delete the cookies from your computer before you switch sites so that you can find the best deal.

9. Make a summer reading list

Summer break is a time to relax and unwind and what better way to do that then to read? Start looking for books that you want to read but never have the time to because of school work. Put them on a list so that you can do it when you are free over the summer. You can read on the plane to your destination or even by the pool while you tan.

10. Breathe

We only have a little while to go but that doesn't mean that the road will be easy. Just remember to breathe through the stress and look toward the light at the end of the tunnel.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
