The magic truly never ends!

Last summer in July, my family and I went to the most magical place on earth: Disney World! It was one of the most memorable trips of my life. Even though I was nineteen years old when I went my first time, I felt like a child again and had an awesome time. The park had many amazing rides and adventures that we enjoyed. Disney World is vastly huge so it wasn’t possible to see everything, but we made sure to see the best kingdoms and go on as many rides as possible in the five days that we were there.

On the first day, we visited Animal Kingdom. We went on the Kilimanjaro Safari ride where we got to see many animals in their natural habits and got to learn new facts about the animals that were there. Everything was perfectly detailed to the point where it seemed as if we really were in a Safari ride in Africa. I even remember being a little scared since the animals were very close to the jeep. After the Safari ride, we went on the Na’vi River Journey ride where we saw Avatar’s animatronics. The music and animations were an intriguing treat to the eyes!

My favorite ride in my entire visit to Disney World was Avatar’s 3-D Flight of Passage ride in Pandora. We waited for five hours in an enormously long line, but it was definitely worth it as it was the highlight of our trip. The 3-D ride made me feel as if I was riding on the back of a Banshee and traveling through the world of Avatar. It was the most remarkable ride I’d ever been on and it is fairly new so I would definitely recommend this ride to everyone that plans on paying a visit to Disney World!

On the second day of our visit, we went to Magic Kingdom where we got to go on marvelous rides such as Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, and Splash Mountain. We also met Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse and got to take pictures with them. At night, we saw the colorful fireworks near the famous Walt Disney Castle and took numerous amounts of pictures.

We ended our last day with a visit to Hollywood Studios. Here we got to go on the Rock N’ Roller Coaster, The Great Movie Ride, The Twilight Zone Tower of Death, and the Star Wars 3-D Adventure rides. I screamed a lot on both the Rock N’ Roller Coaster and the Tower of Death rides. I was scared to death when the ride took us all the way to the top and dropped us from hundreds of feet up. At the end, my sister and I got Mickey Mouse ice creams and bought Star Wars Light Sabers and Mickey Mouse ears as souvenirs to take with us back to Virginia.

Despite the long lines, rainy humid weather, and massive amounts of walking, Disney World is one of the best trips my family and I have been on and we made many glorious memories. We went on adventurous rides, ate lots of good Indian food, shopped for souvenirs, and everybody had a great time! I can’t wait to go back to Florida and revisit Disney World!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
