The summer heat is hard on everyone, and we are always trying to find ways to stay cool but still have fun. Staying inside during the summer to beat the heat is fine but there's not much to do. So here are some ways to stay cool but still have fun in the summer heat.

1. Drink water

Staying hydrated is one of the biggest things to do in the heat, we are having 100-degree weather, so drinking more water is going to help us stay cool and stay hydrated.

2. Go swimming

Whether you're at a lake, a river, a creek, an ocean or a pool, there's nothing like a dip in the water to cool you off in the summer heat. Splash pads are great for little kids and water parks are wonderful for family fun or hanging out with your friends. And always remember to put on sun block.

3. Ice Cream

Now this is not only a good way to cool down, its tasty as well, going to an ice cream shop is a great way to cool down and enjoy the summer with friends and family, and if you are an adult going to an ice cream shop or running out to meet the ice cream man thats driving around your neighbor hood can bring back memories of being a kid.

4. Cold Snacks

Everyone gets hungry so if you are going on a walk, hiking, or a trip to the beach, make sure you pack some cold snacks like veggies, fruit, popsicles, and make sure you freeze the fruit the night before so it stays cold all day in the cooler.

5. Spray Bottle

Keep a spray bottle with you at all times, freeze it the night before so while you are out it will melt and you will have cold water to spray on your face and wrist to cool you down.

6. soak your feet

If you are inside and don't have air conditioning then you can fill your tub with cool water and soak your feet in it and you can read a book while you cool off.

7. Soak Clothes

Chiro

If you are going on a hike or a walk soak hats towels and shirts in water, you will cool off quickly, if you are wearing a hat you can dip it or pour water on it and this will help cool your head fast. And always carry a towel, you can soak it in water and wrap it around your neck, they make towels just for this and can be found on sites like Amazon and at local sporting good shops.

8. Kids

Lubomirkin

When you are out with little ones, you want to make sure everyone is dressed in light-colored and lightweight clothes, have plenty of water, sports drinks, sunblock, if you can't make it to a pool or lake, then take them outside and let them play with the water hose, get a small kids pool or slip and slide from Walmart or target, get some squirt guns and water balloons. and never leave them in a hot car just to run into the store, or to pay for gas.

There are many things we can do to cool down on hot humid summer days, we just need to plan and be careful while we are out in it, even if it is just for a short period of time.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
