As this incredibly hectic and stressful summer is winding down, I've been reflecting on all of the greatness of it. Here are some aspects of my summer that I'm sure all incoming freshmen can relate to.

1. Countless trips to the store

You are single-handedly keeping Bed, Bath, and Beyond, Target, Walmart, Homegoods and TJ Maxx in business with the amount of items you've purchased.

2. Lists

Making lists of all the things you need to make sure your dorm is not only super cute, but also organized.

3. Work, work, and more work

You're working as much as you can, so hopefully you have enough money to last you all year.

4. F.r.i.e.n.d.s.

The few hours that you're not working, you're trying to spend every spare minute with your best friends because the clock is ticking down until you all go your separate ways.

5. Trying to get fit ASAP

Freshman Fifteen is on its way, and I already feel like I need to lose a solid fifteen!

6. Placement tests

I know they don't count towards my grades, but somehow I am still stressed about this.

7. Orientation

So many new people, having the same conversation dozens of times, trying to make friends... When did I become so awkward?

8. Shopping

Trying to suddenly develop a wardrobe after countless years of Catholic school uniforms is difficult and stressful.

9. And then discovering the beauty of online shopping

Amazon prime is your new best friend and the boxes on your porch keep accumulating.

10. Crafts

You have brought your crafting skills to a level you never knew you had because dorm décor is just too expensive. Everything can be a DIY if you truly set your mind to it.

11. What gym?

Eventually giving up on working out because there are a million other things you need to do before you're ready for move-in day.

12. Meeting your roommate

I can't wait to become friends.

13. Graduation parties

They truly are never ending...

14. Buying textbooks

Why. Are. They. So. Expensive??!!

15. Running out of days to snuggle with your dogs

I seriously need to find a way to take them to college with me.

16. Needing rest

Your mom is constantly reminding you of everything you still need to do and it is stressing you out! I really just want to nap.

17. Packing

You keep trying to start packing early, but every time you end up getting distracted.

18. The goodbyes

Everyone is leaving and you're not enjoying the emotional goodbyes.

19. "OK I'm ready to go to college now"

Your friends are moved in, making friends, having fun, and you're living vicariously through the Snapchat stories. You feel ready and eager to start your own adventure!

20. Move-in time!

It's finally your turn now, and you couldn't be more excited. LET'S DO THIS!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
