Can't you just feel it? The wind in your hair, the ice cream on your lips, the music pounding from your car speakers? For most college students, summer couldn't get here fast enough. With just short of three weeks left in the semester, college students all over are whipping out the jean shorts and sunglasses, desperately trying to make plans to get out of town and somewhere sunny. What else could be better?

Summer is great and all, but what if you have no idea what to do? What if you can't afford that luxurious week long vacation with friends? To counteract a potentially boring summer of work, sleep, eat, repeat, here are just a few ideas that could make it one you will not forget.

1. Go on a small road trip

This doesn't have to be a week-long like some of us would probably like. Even just a weekend in the closest city to your town or a day trip of shopping in new areas can make some new memories with your favorite people.

2. Go to the zoo or aquarium

Whether this is with a significant other for an awesome date idea, or just with the squad of friends you've missed all year, treat yourselves to lunch and a fun day outside.

3. Pool party

Most towns have a local waterpark, so make sure to hit that up early in the day for longer fun. If not, look up some close by waterparks and double your pool day with a road trip day as well! If all else fails, water balloon wars are always full of good times.

4. Bonfire nights with s'mores

Hey, everyone loves a good Smore while sitting by the fire under the stars, talking about whatever your heart desires with your closest friends.

5. Camping trip

Looking to really get away for a weekend? Spend some time at the closest campground with a bunch of your friends. Even renting a cabin in the woods can be a good time as well.

6. Look for any concerts by local bands in town

Even if you have never listened to any of their songs, you might find a new band you like and spending a night out on the town can be just as fun.

7. Spa day!

Either at an actual spa with your favorite gal pals or just sitting on your back porch tanning, doing face masks, and painting your nails new and interesting colors.

8. Mini golf

Turn the game into even more of a game. Take your favorite friends and compete for the best score. Whoever loses buys dinner for the group that night.

9. Stargazing

What sounds more relaxing and peaceful than ending a long and busy day sitting out in the bed of a truck, stretched out in the backyard, or the hood of your car, just looking up at the stars and listening to the sounds of the night?

Whether these ideas appeal to your liking or not, make sure to live a little this summer. All of us college students usually look at summer as just extra time to build up rent money or cover those over due school loan payments, but living life is just as important. Make memories while you can and live everyday as if it could be your last. If you do this, you will always have memories to look back on and smile.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
