Summertime can be a time of general craziness, or it can be a time of peace. Here are a few things to put on your to do list and help keep you sane during the summer.

1. Try Halo Top ice cream.

If you don't believe in "healthy ice cream" this brand will convert you. Halo Top lets you enjoy ice cream without wrecking your summer body.

2. Do a 1,000-piece puzzle.

There's just something extremely satisfying about fitting that last piece in.

3. Get a job.

Whether it be part time or full time, having a job during the summer really helps to fund summer adventures while helping you be productive.

4. Make waffles.

There are so many different flavors of waffles you can try or different things you can do with a waffle maker! Get on Pinterest and have yourself a waffle bar at your next party.

5. Road trip to the nearest city.

Both road trips and exploring new sights and sounds are great ways to spice up the summer. Whether you've lived in the same town your whole life or you've recently moved to a new place, checking out the semi-local scene is a fun way to stay busy!

6. Read "For Men Only" or "For Women Only."

These books are written by a couple who did multiple nation-wide surveys on both genders so they could write these books and help the genders better understand each other. They're both short, easy to read books about helping you understand things about the opposite gender that never made sense before.

7. Go to a concert.

Most towns have free concerts throughout the summer or you could take a little trip and use your hard-earned cash to go to a concert!

8. Make pizza from scratch.

You can make dessert pizza, normal pizza, white sauce pizza, fruit pizza, taco pizza...the best part? YOU GET TO EAT PIZZA.

9. Go kayaking/canoeing.

Probably the most scenic way to build up your guns. Kayaking is the easier of the two because your boat is smaller and easier to steer, canoeing may be a little more difficult but you can fit more people into a canoe so you don't need as many if you go out with your friends.

10. Try a new ethnicity of food.

Most people end up eating the same food from the same place day in and day out. Try mixing up your habits a little bit and just eat at one new restaurant this summer!

11. Visit at least three state parks.

They can be in your state or another but pick three state parks to go to this summer. You don't have to camp at them if you don't want to, you can canoe or kayak or have a picnic or check out a waterfall. Take your pick and get outside.

12. Marathon a movie series.

There are SO MANY GOOD ONES. Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Chronicles of Narnia, Star Wars. Make some waffles or pizza and have yourself a house party.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
