To the person who thinks suicide is your only option,
It's not.
I may not know what is going on in your life right now but if it feels so overwhelming that you really don't want to carry on anymore, I want to tell you that things do get better.
There are people who love you even if you are convinced that there is not a single person out there who does. I can guarantee you that there is at least one person who cares.
If you commit suicide you may never get to do so many things and see so many things.
And I know that seems like a small price to pay for your pain to go away, but trust me, with the right help you can feel better and eventually get to see all of those amazing things.
You have other options.
You can ask for help from a friend, a family member, or whoever and they can get you the proper care needed.
You can call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255 and have help from real professionals.
Over time with the right help and support you can feel better and eventually see the beauty that is in life, no matter how crappy it is sometimes.
You are loved, and cared for, and are not alone.
The road can seem dark and scary when you are by yourself fighting it, but with people next to you, you can see the light.
Please think of all of the good things in your life.
Maybe it's your sweet dog who has always been there for you, your favorite TV show, the feeling of satisfaction when you eat a cupcake, or the sun tickling your skin at the beach. Whatever gives you the feeling of love and happiness remember it. And don't forget it, because it is possible to feel that way again.
September 10th is National Suicide Prevention Day and I know there are many others like me who want to get the message across that there are other ways out.
There are tons of people out there in the world who have felt suicidal and with the right help are now able to enjoy life again and love every second of it, with a more appreciative outlook on it.
So please don't think that it is impossible because it's not. You can do it too.
Please just don't forget these things and reach out to people or let people in who try and reach out to you.
Truly,
Gabriella Barcinas
