As I look at the stylish summer clothes in front of me it hits me that I should be studying instead. Although I would rather be thinking about summer I think about the importance of making these last final days count.

This doesn't mean I have to study 24/7! Here are some study break tips!

1. Take a shower

Taking a shower is a great way to de-stress, and everyone needs a good shower cry.

2. Eat some chocolate

Many studies have proven that eating more chocolate helps keep your dopamine levels high.

3. Check your Instagram feed

Although Instagram is addicting, limit yourself to only checking it for however long your break is.

4. Listen to motivating music

Listen to songs that will make you motivated to study and get your work done. Yes, I know — easier said than done.

5. Make a to-do list

I say to myself "I need to get my life together" and that to-do list is longer than my will to study on any given day.

6. Tidy your room

College festers the dirtiest lifestyles, so take out the trash with last weeks and this week's Chinese takeout.

7. Order Chinese takeout

Nothing is better than unhealthy food when your studying stuff you don't care about. Think about it! Studying is healthy and Chinese isn't so it's a great balance.

8. Quick nap

Studies have shown that only 20-30 minutes of sleep you can improve your mood.

9. Go for a walk

Walking is a great form of exercise and really helps to organize thoughts especially while studying.

10. Call your mom

Sometimes while away at college you forget to call your mom and let her know your "still alive but barely breathing."

11. Go to the gym

Nothing like a great workout and some sore muscles to motivate you to "stretch and study."

12. Run and get some Dunkin'

Who doesn't deserve a caramel macchiato when they are studying? It gives you an energy boost and it tastes is amazing.

13. Watch a "Grey's Anatomy" episode

Even if you're not a medical major it's good to see that your not the only one who is studying. Also, "Grey's Anatomy" is great and keep it up Shonda Rhimes!

14. Splurge on one thing you want

Screw it! Order something you have wanted so that it will come in once your finals are done. AKA for me bathing suits on Aerie.

15. Study some more

We all know that you'll never be more prepared than studying at every living breathing moment. Set a timer and see how long you could study for, you'd be surprised how long you can last when you don't look at the time!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
