Studying abroad was an experience I wouldn't change for the world. It was amazing, uncomfortable, educational and fun all in one semester. I've seen so much that it'll be hard to realize what I'll miss until I'm gone. That being said, I'm also excited to get back to my family, friends and home university. Here's a selection of things that I'll miss from studying in Spain and things I'm excited to return to. If you've studied abroad, comment if you relate or one I missed!

1. Excited for: Chipotle

You might judge me for making Chipotle the first item. Yet, I know multiple people who, when traveling to countries with Chipotle, altered their plans to get it.

2. Will miss: Tapas

If I can find out how to make croquettas and patatas bravas that might be all I eat next semester...

3. Excited for: My dog

We are cuddling the minute I get home.

4. Will miss: The connections I've made here

I've met great people from every continent (well, except Antarctica...). I'll miss having such a wide assortment of friends from across the world.

5. Excited for: Lights in public restrooms

You get about three seconds of light in the bathrooms in Spain.

6. Will miss: Bathroom stalls that actually do their jobs

Let me know why the US has slats in the stalls big enough to see through.

7. Will miss: Public Transit

The city is so well connected that public transit is the most convenient way to get around. I won't miss waiting for the metro to open, though.

8. Excited for: Driving

TBH: I'd take the bus any day, but being able to leave whenever I want and not waiting for a train schedule sounds nice.

9. Will miss: Spanish Immersion

It's honestly a great way to learn.

10. Excited for: being (sort of) funny again

I haven't mastered Spanish humor let alone the language barrier...

11. Will miss: Classes in Spanish

Another great way to learn!

12. Excited for: 4 point scale GPA

No more thinking I got a C- when it's really a B+.

13. Will miss: Free Salsa lessons

It was a blast!

14. Excited for: UD extracurricular

I miss the theatre kids!

14. Will miss: Open schedule

It was so easy to hang out with friends or take a nap without a million commitments.

16. Excited for: Having those million commitments back

I go crazy without working, volunteering, being in clubs etc.

17. Will miss: Slang I've picked up

The first time I heard "I'm keen for a pre tomorrow in the arvo" I thought they were talking about avocados, but I'm bringing keen to the US.

18. Excited for: Being home!!!!

A piece of my heart will always stay in Spain, but the States aren't half bad either.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
