Autotune is taking over the world.
That's right. I said it. Someone had to.
Autotune is great in the studio, but people no longer appreciate the sound of live music. So many artists, although it is a personal opinion, are given too much fame without being able to actually SING live.
The "coffee shop" sound is no longer a thing. Let me give you an example.
This lovely couple called "Us The Duo," is supposedly, as stated on America's Got Talent, that "coffee shop" sound. The question is...what's wrong with that?
The judges did not seem to acknowledge the meaning and talent that they had. Ironically enough their song that they wrote, were their wedding vows to each other on their wedding day (which is super cute), and it was featured in a film (which the judges seemed to have no knowledge of). They also mentioned how playing an "original" is "risky." But how can an original song on a show where you are there to prove your talent, be so bad?
Isn't the point of every new talent, to show how different and original they are from the rest of the world?
What I don't understand is how they had such a hard time giving them a yes. Check out the video if you can! ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GBg7UcXj2Bg )
Here is the amazingly talented couple:
People need a wake-up call! There are Youtubers and many others out there that don't need that crisp studio sound in order to sound good! Although I love the clearness, sometimes we forget to appreciate the little natural human imperfections that come with a voice.
This is one of the many mundane things that people are losing their touch on. Now call me overdramatic; that's fine, but, do you see my point?
Stop idolizing human beings that are adequate, and start seeking those that shock you, inspire you, and absolutely AMAZE you!
