After having four entire months off from classes, returning can be a bit of a wake up call. Suddenly life comes with tons of responsibilities and deadlines again, and it can be a struggle until getting back into the flow of things. Whether you're a freshman or a senior, here are some thoughts we all have during the first week back.
1. It's just syllabus week, this will be a breeze!
2. Wait, what classes do I have today?
3. I hope they let us out after they go over the syllabus.
4. How could I have forgotten how long the walk to class is?
5. Why are there so many stairs on campus?
6. I'm glad I'm not the only one who wears giant t-shirts everywhere.
7. Thank God for campus Starbucks!
8. I already miss my mom's cooking.
9. Why are there so many required textbooks?
10. Are they actually going to lecture during the first class?
11. Keeping us the whole 50 minutes is cruel.
12. I think my brain forgot how to work over the summer.
13. Is it the weekend yet?
14. If I wait until the last minute to do this homework, I'll do it faster.
15. It's okay to go out every night, it's the first week...
16. I should not have gone out every night.
17. Crap, I'm already out of money.
Nothing unifies college students like talking to each other about their daily struggles. We've all been there, usually more than once. Versions of these thoughts always stick around throughout the semester, especially nearing finals week. But hey, one week down, right? We will all get through it!
