To all those teacher candidates out there who are about to start student teaching, congratulations, you're finally in the home stretch! You have done so much work and no matter how you are feeling, you are ready to finally start teaching. You are going to learn so much! All of your hard work is finally paying off. This is the beginning of your career and your last step before graduation. Everyone is so proud of you and wishes they were in your shoes.

Your friends are going to miss you so much and you might even miss living the usual college life. Just remember why you wanted to become a teacher and how much work you did to get to this point. Enjoy Winter break and spend as much time with your family and friends as possible before you begin your student teaching journey. Everything is about to change and even though you might be scared, just remember that this is what you have been striving towards and it is finally here. If you get too stressed out, remember that you will have the school vacations off and you can use them to reunite with your friends and recharge. You may not feel ready to take on this experience, but just trust that your education classes have prepared you for this.

Remember that no matter where you get placed or what type of classroom you are in, you have to make the best of it. It will be exhausting and probably frustrating at times but you can get through it. No matter how nervous you are, just remember to dress your best, be on time, and be well prepared. All of us education majors are rooting for you until we get to experience student teaching for ourselves. You've got this, student teachers!

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
