College is the time when we enter into adulthood and start the process of growing up. Though there are some people who have a hard time maturing into an adult, and sometimes they never grow up at all.

Sometimes it is not even about growing up, but not being able to let go of the good old days. Here are a few ways to tell if you are still in the high school phase and holding onto the old you.

1. You tend to start unnecessary drama

What is unnecessary to others may not seem unnecessary to you. That one girl named Becky from Pi Apple Thai is talking smack about you? Who cares? We’re all just trying to pass Bio and get drunk all at the same time. Don’t embarrass yourself and let Becky keep embarrassing herself instead.

2. You're past freshman year, and you still dress up for class

Unless you have somewhere to be after class, you should never worry about what people in any of your classes think of you because I promise none of them are paying any attention to you anyway, so you might as well be comfortable.

3. You go to more athletic events at your old high school than the college you now attend

Everyone goes to a football game or basketball game at their old high school from time to time, but being at almost every single game is another story. Nothing says that you can’t let go of the high school days more than not ever being able to leave the establishment in the first place.

4. You care too much about your popularity status

Is there even such thing as popularity in college? It always seems like there is that one person who feels that way because they’re always overdoing it, especially on social media. College is not about who dresses the best or who can get the hottest boyfriend like, in high school, it is about bettering ourselves as human beings and creating a better future for ourselves.

5. You're still not over your ex from high school

One of the most common ways people hold on to the past is by not being able to let go of past relationships. College is supposed to be a time to start out fresh and leave any old baggage you may have behind. He/she was a problem in high school, so by all means, leave them there.

6. You still go home every weekend even after freshman year

We all know that one person who does this, you might even be that one person. Some people have a hard time stepping out into the real world and even have a hard time dealing with homesickness, but that is apart of growing up that some people have a hard time dealing with.

7. You still worry about what your old classmates from high school think of you

Again, college is the time to start brand new and leave old high school baggage in high school. You are becoming a different, more mature person and as long as you are doing your best you, it shouldn't matter what anyone thinks of you, especially those who have become irrelevant to you.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
