Everyone on planet earth has some form of insecurity whether they are willing to admit it or not. There is always something that people do not like about themselves. We are constantly trying to alter ourselves to make ourselves better by the standards of others. We need to learn to accept ourselves for who we are because nobody is really judging us as much as we think they are.

It is really hard to look past your insecurities, sometimes even impossible, but there are ways to improve the way that you feel about yourself, and that is through self-care. Take care of your body and do what you need to do to take care of yourself first. Get the rest that you need, wash your face, take a shower, put on comfy clothes and listen to your favorite music. Do any of these things or similar things to take care of yourself.

Appreciate the qualities you do love about yourself and do whatever you need to enhance those good qualities, so you love them even more. Love who you are and grow into the person that you want to be. Work on bettering yourself physically, mentally, and emotionally. If you love yourself first, then others will love you too.

There are so many good things about you, you should not let your small insecurities get you down or throw you off. We all have bad days and that is okay, but we should not let our insecurities ruin our day or bring us down. Look past your insecurities and look at the big picture. What makes you, you? The answer to that question is certainly not your insecurities. Focus on the positive and your positive qualities. People do not love you for what you wear or what you look like, they like you for the person you are, your personality, the people who matter most in your life will love you just the way they are and do not care about your insecurities.

Keep your head up and show people what an amazing human being you are. Have confidence in everything you do. Do not focus on the negative and always look at the positive. Do not let your insecurities get in your way. Shine your light to others and lift others up. Love who you are and be confident in who God created you to be. Remember that nobody is perfect, we all have flaws and insecurities. Do not try to compete with one another, but rather, love one another.

If you feel like you have to hide your flaws and insecurities to try and look and be perfect to simply fit in with others, then it is time to let those people go. Real friends should love you for who you are and you should not have to change for anyone in any way.

Your insecurities do not define you. Love yourself just as you are. Yes, it is hard to ignore or hide your insecurities, but they are only a very small part of you. There are so many great things about you. Have confidence in yourself and who God made you be. Take care of yourself and love yourself because you are amazing and your insecurities should not bring you down.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
