There are more people than we’d like to imagine who feel like they are at the end of the rope every day. Who feel like nothing is going for them anymore and who think it is never going to get better.
These people may not always be easy to spot. They could be the popular kid, the most generous person you know, your old friend or your best friend. These are the people who need, more than anything, to know that there is someone who is truly on their side.
In my life, I’ve known a few people who have committed suicide. Some older and some younger, but all with something that drove them to this point.
Sometimes, I never even knew about it.
Looking back, there are many things that myself and others wish they could’ve said or done to help anyone in that situation.
In case someone hasn’t told you, you are important.
This life is full of possibilities for you, and there is only one you to fulfill those.
There are a million ways this life could go after the struggle you are facing. Don’t you want to experience all that is to come your way?
If you don’t live to see it, you’ll never know how everything could’ve gone.
Suicide is permanent.
There are many other paths you can take before choosing this one. You can’t come back after suicide and I promise that it is not the answer that will solve all of your problems.
You will change, and so will everyone else.
Maybe those people you never thought you’d get to know will end up being your best friends. Or what about the moment that you are able to successfully say you made it through?
Don’t you want to live to see that?
I want you to.
You are stronger than you know.
Sure, it might not be all rainbows and happiness right now, but it does get better. Your strength will get you through this, and you deserve the opportunity to be proud of yourself for seeing things through.
People love you.
Whether you see it or not, there are people out there who love you, care about you and want the best for you. They want to be able to watch you come out of this and live your extraordinary life.
I often wonder if there was anything I or the people close to me could’ve said or done differently. There are many things we can say, but we can never be sure it will help.
Sometimes, people just need to hear someone say the words, “I’m here for you, I love you and you are important to me.”
