Ah, glasses. Your biggest enemy, but also your best friend. For some of us, daily life simply isn't possible without the help of a pair of glasses (or contacts, but those aren't as cool). And being someone who wears glasses, you know there are certain challenges that are a fact of the lifestyle.
So if you're in this boat, sit down, push those lenses back up your nose and be glad that you don't have to squint as you continue reading.
1. The struggle of foggy glasses
Whether it be entering a warm room from cold weather, or freshly getting out of the shower, you know the struggle of being temporarily blind because your glasses fogged up.
2. Your nap options are limited
You can either take them off or lay on your back, there is no in between.
3. Feeling literally like Velma when your glasses aren't on
*frantically pats surrounding area and squints aggressively* "My glasses! I can't see without my glasses!"
4. Your glasses sliding down your nose
And it always, ALWAYS seems to happen when your hands are full and you're forced to either suffer or contort your body and use your shoulder to push them up.
5. 3D movies are that much harder
I don't why, but for some reason, it is LITERALLY the worst when you have to put the 3D glasses in front of your actual lenses.
6. Having to suffer in bright lighting
Because only the privileged have the luxury of prescription sunglasses, and you are a mere, normally-lensed peasant who must squint against harsh sunlight.
7. You feel a connection with other glasses-wearers
You know they know your struggle, and it's a sort of bond that people with normal vision just don't understand.
8. Judging people who wear fake glasses
Though you secretly envy their perfect vision.
9. You protect your glasses like a child
They are sensitive, fragile, and very expensive, just like an actual child--except they don't cry and won't grow up and have an emo phase and tell you they hate you.
10. Rain = vision loss
Little droplets gather in you vision and suddenly you can't see and you can't wipe them off because EVERYTHING IS WET.
11. You never clean them as much as you should
You get so used to them, you forget that you have to take them off every once in a while to give them a good scrub (ya know, until they get so dirty that your sight is impaired).
12. You look like a different person without them
"Oh my god, I didn't even recognize you!" is an inevitable response when others see you not wearing glasses for the first time.
13. Feeling a sense of sadness when its time to get a new pair
You spend so much time with them on your face, it's like they're a part of you. Letting go is always the worst part.
