When people think of college, they think of "the best time you your life" so why would you want to get out? People can graduate early for many reasons. but graduating mid-school year (so in December), makes college life a little bit difficult. As someone who is doing it myself, here are some struggles and thoughts of being someone graduating on a different track.
"What year of college are you in?"
Well, to answer this is a little weird. "I'm a senior, but this is my third year of college...I'm graduating early." There can never be a simple answer.
"Why do you want to leave college?"
Ummmmm, maybe to save some money, start my career, not be fighting for jobs with all the other college graduates in the spring! It's my plan so don't judge.
"How do you manage your courses?"
I take extra courses, summer courses, and I need to take them in a different order than most people in my major, but I still get them all done just like everyone else!
"You're not going to have a graduation?"
No, I will. I still can walk at my graduation in the spring. I'm still a graduate.
"So, how do you have friends in your classes?
I have friends who are graduating the spring before me and the spring after me (when I would have graduated). It's not difficult. It can be a little weird, but oh well. It's not like I'm an alien.
"Why would we live with you if you're just going to leave after first semester?"
I'm not sure, maybe because we're friends. I know it may be difficult if I leave after the fall semester and you're afraid that you'll get a random roommate, but this is something I've let you know about for a very long time now.
Graduating early is something to be proud of. You worked hard to do this, and though it may be stressful and difficult, you're amazing for doing so! Be proud of who you are and all the hard work you did to get there!
