I know I am not alone when I say that every spring semester, the struggle of maintaining any sort of motivation becomes very real.
When the new school year starts in the fall, there is a sort of excitement in getting back to your friends and school routines. You have a motivation that seems to just make it to winter break, so you are able to complete the semester strong, or at least hope to. However, after winter break comes and goes, everything just starts going downhill from there.
Having the wonderful weeks of winter break are great and somewhat revitalizing, but those few weeks do not seem to fully revive the motivation bar that had been depleted over the course of the fall semester. As spring semester begins, the bar is probably about half-way full or half empty, depending on your point of view. Either way, it is not filled to the brim and soon it will be empty with little hope of revival. But at this beginning of the semester, there is some excitement to get you through the first weeks and maybe even months up until spring break. You have new classes, new professors, same friends, and same living situation, but with these things comes the energy to hopefully make to spring break.
However, everything is ruined after this week-long break. If winter break could only fill up the motivation meter half-way, there is not much to expect from spring break, especially since it was already depleted in the first half of the semester up until this break. It has now been a good couple of weeks after that glorious week break, and I am struggling so much to maintain any sort of motivation to anything. There are only about six weeks left until summer, but that is six weeks too long. I am trying to harvest some sort of motivation as we slowly come upon finals and the completion of major assignments that are due at the end of the semester.
I know I am not alone. School is getting hard. The semester is reaching a close. Together, we can make it through. Even if procrastination is the only thing that grants us a few hours of motivation, that is better than nothing and hopefully with these bursts we can conquer this semester, so our GPA is not completely damaged.
Good luck to all!
