15 Things That I Have Learned From This Stressful Semester That Made Me Stronger As Told By 'OTH'

This semester has come to an end, and I'm really glad that it's over because it has been my most stressful semester to date. There have been ups and downs this semester, and even though this has been my most stressful semester, in a way, I'm kind of glad that it happened because I have come out on the other end a better and stronger person with a new perspective. And for that, I am thankful. I've also learned some lessons along the way too.

1. People will come and go into your life

http://www.kinyu-z.net/group/one-tree-hill-wallpapers/

Everyone enters your life for a reason whether it's for a short period of time or for life.

2. You will find out who is by your side and who is not

In life, you will eventually learn who really cares and who does not. It might hurt at first, but you are grateful for it in the end because at least you know who really has your back.

3. Bad things will happen

Certain things can be avoid while other things that happen if life can't. And it does suck. But you have to keep pushing through the bad times to get to the good. Every bad thing that happened, I took something good out of it, and it made me a better and stronger person in the end.

4. It's okay to be picky with how you spend your time

https://giphy.com/gifs/lifetimetv-cast-one-tree-hill-reunion-dQlgHqrX1FodsVHzqU

We all have stuff happening in our lives between friends, school, family, works, and so on. It's one hundred percent okay to be picky with how you want to spend your time, and the way you want to spend your life. It's your time and life after all. Don't let anyone else try to tell you how to live your life, or how you should spend your time. And I've learned this, it's okay to say no once and away. You don't owe anyone a 'yes'. If you don't want to, you don't have to.

5. Some people are worth your time while others are not

https://giphy.com/gifs/lifetimetv-cast-one-tree-hill-reunion-Zvab1I5TP2xYk9DyLc

You choose who you want to hang out with, and you choose who you want to be friends with.

6. God will always be there

No matter what, God will always be there for you. Even when it feels like he isn't.

7. There will always be a light at the end of the tunnel

https://giphy.com/gifs/one-tree-hill-oth-sophia-bush-MA2qmLCye7qhi

There are times in life when it feels like you are drowning, and the waves will never calm. But trust me, the waves will calm, and you will get back on your feet. When you are going through tough times, there will always be a light at the end of the tunnel.

8. You are good enough

https://giphy.com/gifs/one-tree-hill-oth-nathan-scott-jaiVfEZPXjiw0

At times, I feel like I'm not good enough, but thankfully, I have great friends and family that remind me when I can't remind myself that I'm good enough. I have so much worth, and trust me, so do you.

9. Hard work will pay off

https://www.pinterest.com/pin/568157309219579185/

I'm currently in college, and there are times when I want to drop out. I some times question whether if its all worth it. I have to keep reminding myself that I decided to go to college for a reason, and that I am in too deep to quit now. Plus, it will be worth it in the end. All the hard work that I put in will pay off in the end. The day I graduate and look back, I'm going to be thankful that I never quit, and getting that degree will be one of the best days of my life.

10. Take time for yourself

https://giphy.com/gifs/one-tree-hill-oth-sophia-bush-55vVg33ysEb5u

With everything going on in life, there is nothing wrong with taking some time for you. You need some time for yourself to recharge before you are on the go again or you will burn out.

11. Find the joy in the small things as well as the big things

https://giphy.com/gifs/friends-hug-one-tree-hill-mdbg0iH3431Ha

It's easy when life gets crazy and you get overwhelmed, it's easy to get caught up in all that. I try to find joy and the good in everything, but sometimes, I lose sight and have remind myself to find joy in just the big things but also the small things. Because small things lead to the big things.

12. Not everyone or everything is as it seems

https://giphy.com/gifs/one-tree-hill-oth-haley-james-scott-7dEjI0yEwFtugw

Don't be too quick to judge

13. Some things are out of control

https://www.pexels.com/photo/landscape-nature-africa-boy-103123/

I'm not a control freak, but I do like to have some control on certain things. I have to remind myself that there are times in my life that some things are out of my control, and there is nothing that I can do about it. All I can do is just trust in God.

14. It's okay to cry once and a while

https://giphy.com/gifs/8x01-RhrW4LVJLKMrm

I don't like to cry especially in front of people, but it's a hundred percent okay to cry once in awhile to let it all out what you have been building up.

15. You got this

Yes, I do.

Every lesson I've learned made me stronger like this semester. My gratitude for the people that I have in my life because I know that they will always have my back no matter what. I know that God will always be there for me. So, when things are stressful, and life gets crazy, I know that it won't be that way always. I always try to appreciate every moment of my life even the bad ones. Sometimes, life will give you a bad hand, but life won't always be bad. There will be good in life too. Just keep pushing through the bad moments because you got this. Know your worth, and remember, you are priceless.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
