The start of a new school year is always exciting with all the new possibilities and what not but stress definitely comes along with it. Homework, friend/boy drama, jobs and car issues are just a couple off my list of stressors, but how you deal with that stress is what matters. Everyone deals with stress differently but I have a couple tips and tricks that I use to help ease my mind. One of the tips when you have a lot to accomplish is to make a list of everything you have to get done, listing them in order of biggest priority or closest deadline is a good idea, and then just starting from top, crossing off each one as you go. Another one is to take 5 minutes in between every task you complete to breathe, I try and forget everything that I have to do and listen to my favorite songs and just get lost in it (maybe dance in front of the mirror?) before I have to snap back to reality.
Also it’s good to talk to somebody when your stressed out, I usually go to my mom or my best friend, I think it helps to express your problems aloud and maybe get some feedback from others to figure out what steps to take instead of bottling it all in your own mind (feeling like your going to explode). Another tip I have is to take time and do something you enjoy whether that’s going for a run or watching your favorite show on Netflix. The last thing I do to relieve some stress is to watch funny Vines or YouTube videos to take a second or two and laugh. It’s important to make sure your not letting the stress rule your life and still continue to be the happy person you are. During stressful times it’s necessary to smile and keep a positive attitude because nothing truly gets accomplished with a poor outlook on life.
