Have you ever heard or said the phrase, "OMG, I feel like I'm dying. I'm so stressed!" I know I have. I've heard so many others say it, too. College comes with a lot of stress: homework, classes, tests, friendships, clubs, leadership, social events, and so on.

In a lot of ways, being stressed is the norm.

Society tells us it's normal to have stress creep into your mind in the middle of the night. It's normal to have that constant anxious feeling in the pit of your stomach. It's normal to be exhausted. We get so stressed out that it begins to destroy our lives because we don't know how to deal with it.

So, why do we do this to ourselves? It's not like we enjoy being stressed! Some of us may not even remember what a stress-free life feels like.

But you know what? It doesn't have to be this way.

We don't have to be getting 4 hours of sleep every night and living off 20oz of coffee. We don't have to be productive every minute of every hour of every day.

You may be thinking to yourself that you literally can't take a break; that you actually have so much work to do, and I just don't understand.

Girl (or guy), I understand. Life gets hectic. But, look at your daily life. What are you doing that is not giving you joy (don't say homework)? Cut that thing out of your life that you don't love. Turn down that position to be president of your club if you aren't getting 8 hours of sleep every night.

Let me tell you what you can do to include positive stress management skills into your everyday life: Be sure to get at least 8 hours of sleep per night; Go to bed at the same time and wake up at the same time; Eat foods that make you feel good; Move your body; Spend time with quality friends AND time alone; Talk to a therapist; Make a schedule... I could go on with this list.

Know that it doesn't have to be this way. You are allowed to be okay and to have fun every once in a while without feeling constantly stressed out.

So let loose, take a break, and enjoy the ride! You only get one life, so why let your stress ruin it?

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
