All the different classes have something to worry about. Freshmen: being able to get from one class to another on time and remember where you're going.
Sophomores: trying not to fall into the wrong crowd and stay away from the drama.
Juniors: getting all your hard stuff out of the way so you don't have to worry about it senior year.
Seniors: Graduation, getting scholarships along with getting into a college. Along with the big things to stress about, there are always little things to stress about too.
For example, spirit week, studying, working, your home life, what you're wearing, your girlfriend or boyfriend, etc. This is how to not be so overwhelmed or stressed out so much those 4 years of high school.
Don’t worry about something you can’t control.
Most classes have lots of tests which causes most students to stress and figure out how to balance everything.
Try your best not to get stressed out over assignments or tests, just focus on getting it done and over with by the due date. You can't control the due dates or the rubric the teacher will go by so don't overthink it.
The 4 years you're in high school go by fast and it's easier to stress out than enjoy most of it, so try your best not to be overwhelmed.
Don’t care about others' opinions.
Relating to the point made above, you are you. Accept yourself because that is the most important thing when it comes to confidence and being happy. The jeans you wear today won't matter 4 years from now.
The shirt you wear today won't matter a month from now. In high school, people will judge you on ANYTHING. Personally, I am a very brutally honest, sarcastic, but an overall kind person.
My friends love me for the same reasons others don't. From freshman-senior year, you need to be accepting of yourself and not care what others think about you.
Find something that relieves your stress and that isn’t unhealthy.
Some days are worse than others. It can feel like nothing positive has happened all day. In high school, that is a great time to find a stress reliever that isn't unhealthy.
Unfortunately, a lot of teens turn to partying, drinking, drugs, sex, etc. because they think that is the only thing that will make them feel better. News flash, 99% of the time, that doesn't work and not to mention that's not a healthy lifestyle. For 3 years, my reliever was cheerleading.
No matter how bad of a day I was having, cheer made me forget everything. I also study to help me get my mind off things. Others join student council, sports, different clubs, get a job, etc. to help them not be so stressed out at the end of the day.
