"Stranger Things" is the latest Netflix original series that has kept viewers on the edge of their seat ever since its debut on Friday, July 15th. Created by Matt Duffer and Ross Duffer, this thrilling, mysterious series circles around a young boy who's gone missing in a small Indiana town in the early 1980's. The nail-biting, question-leaving episodes have captivated viewers for the past week, and after binge-watching it this past weekend there's no surprise why.
The show has elements anyone would love; romance, mystery, suspense, thrill, humor, and a dynamic cast of characters to keep the viewers interested. Follow along as Nancy experiences young love, as Joyce keeps fighting for her son, as Michael and his friends help El, and as everyone stays on the hunt for the missing boy, Will, who disappeared under mysterious circumstances.
When Will disappears, a girl with a shaved head, empty stomach, and an amazing talent appears in his place. She's discovered by Will's friends, and from there the hunt to find Will begins. Winona Ryder makes a great come back playing Will's mother, Joyce; a divorced, single mother of two boys frantically believing in her son when no one else believes her.
The cast of characters each have their own internal conflict, but are brought together under the same external conflict - something is terrorizing the town, and that same thing has kidnapped Will. Who will the hero be? Who or what is that villain? What boy will Nancy choose? What is El hiding? Will they ever find Will?
Each episode leaves you learning more but still gaining more questions. The intrigue and suspense fill the air and forces you to watch another episode until you learn the whole story. The whole story doesn't end at the last episode, though. A season two is destined to happen in order to answer whether or not this cast of characters will have a happily ever after or not.
"Stranger Things" is the newest must-watch show for the end of your summer binge-watching.
