Staring out of my window during this hailing storm,
The ocean is nothing like I have seen before.
Looking out where the horizon once stood,
It is hidden by the fog that blends it all together.
Snowstorms are funny you see,
Because unlike rain there is no sound.
All the critters have taken shelter,
And the frozen crystals land softly.
The water is dark and gray,
But in a beautiful kind of way.
The edges turn white when it crashes over the rocks.
Uproaring over the sea wall,
The ocean tempts to get closer.
Gulls flying through the air
Making circles with the wind.
It is a beautiful sight,
The ocean in a storm.
It shows the beauty of the glassy water out of cliche context.
No sunset to awe and no warm sand to sift
Just the tide tumbling, toiling, rolling.
Witness the storm and take in its wonder,
Because not all things that appear dreadful are bad.
