Within the past few months and even weeks, America has had many news reports from shootings to 9/11 remembrances. We should remember that behind every story there are other human beings who live lives just like you and I. There should also be acceptance in news and the good deeds that come with it. When we see others reaching out to their communities and strangers across the states we should support those that help others, not put them down for "making a profit" and behaving in a "disgusting" manner.

Although we have freedom of speech and press in America, there shouldn't have to be negative press over a good deed. Like remembering those who passed on 9/11, or a police officer shaking the hand of a peaceful protester. Remember that these stories aren't shared because someone just wanted to, its because its the right thing to do. If we don't post about current events then our children will forget, and that is how history repeats itself.

Writing about news is more than just saying what you believe. There has to be thought and research into why someone did something in the first place. As writers, we can never assume people's opinions or their motivation for an action. There must be an openness when it comes to writing, otherwise it leads to negative criticism.

We must support fellow Americans with the good deeds they achieve, because now more than ever we are in desperate need of it.
