Procrastination. We've all been there. You know you have to finish that one assignment or study for that exam but you just can't bring yourself to do it. You know it's important, but you still choose to ignore it. Here are a few reasons why you need to suck it up and tackle it.

Putting off the assignment will only stress you out more

You know doing homework will cause you stress, but not doing it will only cause more. Any self care techniques you usually use to avoid stress will not work if those assignments are still waving over your head.

The longer you put something off, the less time you have to do it

It doesn't take a genius to know that there are 24 hours in a day. If you spend two hours on your phone, then you have 22 hours left. If you hang out with your friends for three hours, you now have 19 hours left. It's basic math, which, by the way, you will fail if you don't do that homework.

It will not be your best work if you keep waiting

Sloppily trying to put something together at the last minute never turns out right. When you call someone to paint your house do you want them to rush through it and do a horrible job? Good work takes time.

Other things aren't as important

You can rewatch Friends for the 500th time any other day, but you don't have all the time in the world to study for that test. Any other task can wait. Turn off the TV, put your phone on silent, and crack open those notes, because everything else will still be there when you're done.

Your future self will thank you

Do you want to spend the last 20 minutes before an exam frantically cramming everything in your head or relaxing because you know you prepared enough beforehand? Unless you're an elephant, you will not retain anything from last minute studying, so you might as well take care of it now.

Sometimes you need a little nudge to get your work done, and sometimes you simply need a reason. When your future career just isn't motivation enough, maybe the answer to a giant why will be. Now close this article and get to work!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
