Stop telling us the shooter was a “good guy.”
Stop letting terrorists enter popular culture by plastering their names all over the news.
Why must we give these horrible people a face and a name in our society?
What is the need for the media to tell us that he was a multimillionaire and that he gambled a lot?
So what he had a lavish life and could go on cruises?
That has nothing to do with the fact that he viciously murdered 58 people and injured hundreds more. I don’t care about his story. I don’t care about his girlfriend unless she was involved directly with the murder.
In the case of the massacre of Sandy Hook, an article in ABC News stated that the murderer liked to play “Dance Dance Revolution” and that he was an average student with a tough relationship with his parents. Why is important to know that this murderer liked to play “Dance Dance Revolution” in his free time?
In an article in The Telegraph, a British publication, the author talks about how the shooter had a hypersensitivity to touch so the tags had to be removed from his clothing as a kid. What does this information have to do with the fact that the terrorist opened fire at a school killing 26 children?
The focus should be on the victims and not the psychopath behind their unjust deaths.
Why aren't we calling people like the shooter in Las Vegas, the shooter in Sandy Hook, the shooter at the Pulse Nightclub, the shooter at the movie theater in Aurora, Colorado, the shooter at Mother Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, and the shooter at Virginia Tech terrorists?
Merriam Webster defines a terrorism as “the systematic use of terror, especially as a means of coercion” so why is it that only radicalized Muslims are viewed as terrorists and not the people in our own country causing terror in the hearts and minds of our citizens?
These shooters ruined the lives of people having fun at a music festival, kids going to school, people trying to be proud of who they are at a nightclub, people watching Batman, people praising their God, and people getting an education to prepare for the future. To me, these shooters are the real terrorists, and they don’t even deserve the courtesy of being named or identified in the news.
