When I started collecting crystals and stones, family and friends thought I was just interested in pretty rocks. While they definitely are beautiful, these stones held a deeper meaning for me than just a simple pretty rock to sit on my shelf. They were more than just a silly fashion fad.

These precious stones were kept around me for healing. Now, hear me out! I know it sounds crazy. "How do stones heal you?" "They're just rocks." Healing with crystals isn't witch craft and should be done only with love and light. Crystal healing dates back to ancient Egyptians who once believed that these gems had the power to restore health. Which is why so tombs are filled with so many precious gems. Now while I don't think they will heal your health ailments, I do think that they have the ability to soothe ones soul and calm the mind. Just like with anything, if you believe in it enough, it could improve your mood.

My first experience with healing crystals was awesome. I took a trip to a local spiritual store where they had SOOOOO many stones and their descriptions and uses labeled above them. I walked around and held these precious stones for over an hour, learning what they all meant and what they could provide for me. I decided to start with chakra crystals. Those of you who are not familiar with chakras, they are seven energy points that align down the center of your body.

I began to incorporate these stones into my meditations and felt a since of clarity and clearness throughout my body. I slept with amethyst under my pillow when I couldn't sleep and brought stones with me to keep on my desk when I took my final exams (I passed). After feeling renewed with the help of these stones and my ability to believe in them, I decided to learn more about them and broaden my collection of stones. For anyone looking to learn more about crystal healing, I personally advise going to a store in person so that you can determine which crystal is for you by holding and feeling the energy in the crystal. You also have a better chance at finding real crystals than if you were to purchase from an online store.

Crystal healing is not for everyone, but if you're willing to give it a try, I bet you'll feel less stressed and more clear headed. It has significantly boosted my energy, mood, and positive thinking.

WITH LOVE AND LIGHT :)

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
