Something Stinks, And Your Diet Might Be Causing It

Why do some people just stink?

Everybody knows that one person who has a perpetual odor, and not the gym sweat kind.

No, I’m talking about the person who you consider might be changing into a Zombie because he or she always smells like the undead. If you know this person or are this person, your diet may be to blame.

People with an offensive odor, that they just can’t seem to wash away, usually suffer from these two major problems, and no, it's not just bad hygiene.

One, they are eating processed foods or lots of meat. Two, they often suffer from chronic constipation. The worst part is that this is a self-sustaining cycle. The more processed foods or meat you eat, the more constipated you get. The more constipated you get, the more you smell like rotting flesh.

See the connection?

For example, when someone eats a lot of onions or garlic the smell at some point no longer stays contained to their breath. Instead, the smell begins seeping out of their pores.

So, it only makes sense that if you continue to feed your body crap and you can’t manage to eliminate it the conventional way (i.e. a bowel movement), then your body is smart enough to utilize other means of getting rid of the toxic buildup. Guess what, the next best organ at eliminating waste just happens to be the skin. Ah ha, thus explaining the persistent stench.

Also, you might notice that when the skin starts to develop an odor, acne, eczema, and other skin problems start to appear. Coincidence I think not. All I’m trying to say is that you might want to pay attention to what’s on your plate before you dig in because nobody wants the comment, “Something stinks” to mean “You.”

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
