There are so many jokes going around about the New Year and how all of the gyms will start to get really busy for a few weeks until people give up on their "resolutions." This time of year is supposed to be a "blank slate" and people choose to forget the last entire year, hoping for something better. But the thing is, without the experience of your birth-2018, there would not be any standards for the New Year to be "better" (which half of the time is not too different if you are a person who falls into a routine).
I guess I'd like to say I'm getting to some kind of point, but I'm not. People give the New Year a bad stigma and I feel bad for the poor guy! Just kidding!!!
I've heard the following: "People use it as an excuse to get drunk," "People will be waiting in lines to get on a treadmill," "It's a stupid holiday," and even "I don't consider it a holiday."
What we all know is that while Christmas and the New Year are meant to be the supposed "happiest" part of the year, unexpected events can happen that may ruin or disrupt these events. So it is in times like these that surrounding yourself with family and giving yourself a break from the past, is the best thing you can do for yourself.
You have a fresh start, not a NEW start. Don't focus on erasing yourself. Just build a better quality of life! It is okay if your resolution is not just going to the gym. Maybe it is anything to do with self care, mental health, and or other goals you wish to achieve.
It's okay if it's not a whole "NEW ME," cry. What's wrong with the current you? Nothing!
