I've written plenty of articles about how much I appreciate my parents. They're incredible people and I could not imagine life without them-- mostly because I wouldn't have a life without them. However, I have forgotten to mention some other really amazing people, my step parents. I have been blessed with two of the greatest individuals and could not be more thankful for the light that they have brought into my life.

I met Lindsey when I was four. She was still in college, so about the age that I am now, and I told her all the time that she was almost thirty. Thinking about it now, I would have disowned me if I were her. I'm really sorry about that. However, she was a great addition to our family, and still is of course. I know that I would not be ready to take on the responsibility of a four year old at this point in my life but she did, and she did a damn good job. Let's be honest, if it weren't for Lindsey my hair would have always been a hot mess. Dad and Grandma tried their best but that is not their area of expertise. However, there has been so much more in the span of 16 years that she has done. She let me spend countless hours in her basement watching legally blonde, over and over again. She picked me up and dropped me back off at home on the weekends. She experienced my first tattoo and the Backstreet Boys with me and still so much more. The older I've gotten, the closer we've gotten and I'm happy to say that she is not just my step-mom but a great friend of mine as well. She has given me so much and I cannot say it enough how much of a blessing she is to our family.

I met Brian when I was fourteen and going into my freshman year of high school. He didn't talk much, probably because between my brother and me you really can't get a word in. He was patient with us, though, and did the best he could to make a smooth transition for us. We don't tell him enough, but we really do appreciate him. He has brought so much happiness into our household. He was the perfect fit to our crazy. He offers logic when we're nonsensicle and is always prepared with a good story. There is never a dull moment in our house, as we are always creating new inside jokes or making fun of each other. I can honestly say I don't know what we would do with out him.

These two have been truly amazing and have been such a blessing to my life. They are the unsung heroes and I could not imagine any two better people to share my family with.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
