We rang in this New Year with exciting plans, family, friends, and high hopes for the future. However, most make New Year's resolutions that don’t quite stick for much long after. What if I told you all of that can change by turning around your mentality and attitude in your every day life? Because it’s totally true!

Before we begin, make sure to set goals that are reasonable. You know yourself and what you can handle. The last thing you need to do is make promises to yourself that you know you can’t keep. All this will do is discourage you and break your optimism towards wanting change in the future.

Having a positive and healthy attitude toward your everyday life is going to allow you to try new things, handle failure better, and continue to make more goals for the future. Therefore, it will slowly start to reflect in your motivation to continue your resolutions. After all, life is about trial and error and if you have the right mindset, you aren’t going to be slowed down.

This is very important when you make your resolutions because most of the time when starting out, you are going to fall and have to get back up to keep going. This is where most people fall off the wagon and are unable to make it “stick.” So with all that being said, here are some quick and easy ways to keep that positivity level up higher than your suspenders can:

  1. Be open to change
  2. Say things you mean not say things that are mean.
  3. Fill the world with compliments.
  4. Try something new every day, even if its just a food you have never tasted before.
  5. Love your family like there is no tomorrow and let them know it.
  6. Smile a ton and at others, you would be surprised how contagious it is!
  7. Love yourself and what you stand for.
  8. Make goals for that hour, day, week, and month! Not just for that year.

All of these will slowly start to show in how willing you are to continue pushing for a better you! And will make the change from your resolutions so much easier. Good luck to you and your future. Continue striving for a better life (even if you already think your life is the best it can be).

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
