Let's Talk About "Locker Room Talk", Mr. Trump

The second presidential debate on Sunday night was, as to be expected, highly anticipated by many for multiple reasons. One of these reasons had to do with how Trump would react or respond when he was inevitably questioned about the audio tapes released last Friday.

As expected, the "scandal" was brought up a number of times. And each of those times, Trump "apologized" yet defended his words, calling it "locker room talk."

"I don't think you understood what was -- this was locker room talk. I'm not proud of it. I apologize to my family. I apologize to the American people. Certainly I'm not proud of it. But this is locker room talk."

"Yes, I'm very embarrassed by it. I hate it. But it's locker room talk, and it's one of those things. I will knock the hell out of ISIS. We're going to defeat ISIS. ISIS happened a number of years ago in a vacuum that was left because of bad judgment. And I will tell you, I will take care of ISIS."

"It was locker room talk, as I told you. That was locker room talk. I'm not proud of it. I am a person who has great respect for people, for my family, for the people of this country. And certainly, I'm not proud of it. But that was something that happened."

For those who are unaware of what exactly "locker room talk" means, here's a simple definition from the Online Slang Dictionary:

noun - uncountable
discussion using foul language, or of a sexual or otherwise offensive nature.

So, it was "locker room talk," you say, Trump. But does that make it OK? Does that make your words excusable?

So, it was "locker room talk," because boys will be boys and everyone else just has to put up with that.

Yeah, no. How about we not.

I see people on Twitter, Facebook and the like, calling out Hillary Clinton for trying to "sabotage Trump" or asking how she's any better considering what Bill Clinton has done. Let me recount a few things.

Those tapes? Hillary's advertisements? Trump calls them "mean" - ironic, coming from him - but very literally, they're all filled with things that he has said and done. He hasn't been coerced or tricked into saying things that could be taken out of context. No, he actually said and did those things. Regardless of whether or not Hillary Clinton or supporters of Hillary Clinton were the culprit of digging these tapes up, all it's doing is showing the American (perhaps even international) public who this man really is, as if they weren't able to see what kind of man he is already.

Quite simply:

Secondly, Trump supporters (and Trump himself) like to bring up Bill Clinton as a response attack when the tapes are brought up.

Remind me again who's running for president on the democratic ticket? Oh, right, Hillary Clinton. Not Bill. To sum up my thoughts on this matter, refer to the tweet below.

I am having serious trouble here understanding why anyone could support this man. I'm not saying that you have to like Hillary Clinton. Hell, you could hate her for all I care. But why why why would you support Donald Trump, a man who has absolutely no political background or experience, a man who has proven time and time again that he has no idea what he's doing?

The United States gets laughed at by other countries for many reasons, but if you can't hear the loud, resounding facepalm from the people in other countries because of this election, you might need to get your ears checked.

Don't like Hillary? Fine. Write in someone elses' name. But please, do not vote for this man and essentially sign this country into four more seasons of Donald Trump's latest reality TV show, Trump's America (which, frankly, sounds like an alternative title for The Purge.)

And you know what? For the record, If you would like to believe that boys will be boys, then so be it. Have your own opinion. Think along Trump's mindset that humans born with a penis shouldn't be held accountable for their actions.

But if you ask me, I'd rather not have a boy running my country.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
