The Perks of a Stay-at-Home Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving this year might look and feel different, but there are many benefits to spending it in the comfort of your own home, with a smaller group of your family.

The Perks of a Stay-at-Home Thanksgiving

Keeping it small and simple might not be too bad after all

No need to worry about anyone asking you how school is going

My professors don't know how to work Zoom and I have not learned a single thing, Aunt Sharon.

Sweatpants are acceptable attire this year

Giphy

No need to look good when you're only traveling to the kitchen and dining room for the day.

No awkward encounters with those relatives you barely know

Giphy

The only things hugging me this Thanksgiving are my mom and my blanket.

You can fall into your food coma in your own bed

Giphy

So much more comfortable than having to share the couch with three other people.

No political arguments with that one relative who you KNOW voted for a certain candidate

Giphy

Let's keep our mouths filled with food, not arguments, for this Thanksgiving.

You won't be forced to eat that suspicious side dish your aunt always brings

Giphy

There may be a smaller selection of sides this year, but at least you'll where they all came from.

The couch can double as the dinner table this year

Giphy

Keep it traditional if you want, but also don't feel bad for prioritizing comfort.

Lastly, you'll be keeping your family safe so you can all celebrate future holidays to come

Giphy

Even if this Thanksgiving may seem weird, at least you will have more bizarre and awkward holiday memories to look forward to in the years to come.

You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
