Most of us grew up watching "High School Musical." We were enamored by the cheesy dialogue (and even cheesier songs) that spoke to our younger selves. There is a reason that "High School Musical" recently celebrated its 10-year anniversary with a televised special on Disney Channel; when it aired in 2006, it left an impact that still resonates today. The music of all three films in the franchise, specifically, is still relevant, even though its been 10 years since the first movie aired. In fact, there may never be a performance as iconic as Zac Efron's "Bet On It." At the beginning of a new semester of college, we can relate the music of "High School Musical" to our own lives.
1. Breaking Free
When you are soarin', flying on Syllabus Day before the work actually starts.
2. Bet On It
When everyone says the class you just signed up for is impossible to get a good grade in.
3. I Gotta Go My Own Way
When you tell a professor you have to drop his or her class.
4. Get'cha Head in the Game
When you realize that break is actually over, and you actually have to study.
5. Scream
When you, like Troy Bolton, feel the need to scream because you are so busy with work and extracurriculars.
6. I Don't Dance
When you're at a party sober.
7. What Time is It?
Time to take a nap.
8. Work This Out
When you and all your friends have conflicting schedules, and you are trying to make plans in between classes, athletics and clubs.
9. I Want it All
Good grades, a social life and sleep.
10. Start of Something New
Just remember: it's a new semester and anything is possible.
