Starting any new job is intimidating, but it will most likely turn out much better than you think. Fears are normal, just push past them and let the stress go.

1. What if all the other employees hate me?

If you actually work and do your job, then they shouldn’t have a reason to.

2. What if my entire uniform is wrong?

If you listened to or read about the uniform rules and followed them, you will be fine.

3. What if I show up at the wrong time and thought it was right?

Call the day before to make sure you know the exact time and set a reminder on your phone for extra security.

4. What if I encounter a mean customer?

You might, but that will only help get better acquainted with your job and help build experience.

5. What if all my enemies show up on my first day and I don’t even know what I’m doing?

You probably won't see anyone you know on your first day, but even if you do hold your head up and keep that smile.

6. What if I mess up everything I do?

Try your very best and you will have nothing to worry about.

7. What if my manager hates me?

They wouldn't have hired you if they did.

8. What if I forget what to do right after they tell me?

Listen carefully. Steer clear of daydreaming and it will work out.

9. What if my inexperience is a big problem?

You learn as you go.

10. What if I’m too awkward to talk to people?

It just adds character. Suck it up buttercup

11. What if I think I’m doing good, but I actually suck?

Someone will let you know.

These are irrational yet rational fears, I suppose. If you are too laid back about your new job, you may get lazy, but worrying about messing up might push you to give 110%. Everyone makes mistakes on the job so no matter what just do your best and learn along the way.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
