It's On Us is an education based campaign that focuses on sexual assault and prevention primarily on college campuses. Much like NO MORE, it advocates for a cultural shift surrounding sexual assault in the silence, stigma and the way we identify what exactly constitutes sexual assault. The president and vice president of our current administration have made it a priority to root out sexual assault wherever it exists, especially in our nation's schools. In April of 2015 the White House Task Force to Protect Students From Sexual Assault launched the "1is2many" PSA which was aimed at spreading the word that one victim is one too many and released the "Not Alone Report" to help empower and equip students and administrators to understand and tackle the issue. The report includes steps in four areas:

  1. Identify the scoop of the problem through campus surveys.
  2. preventing campus sexual assault and engaging men
  3. helping schools respond effectively when a student is assaulted
  4. improving and making more transparent the federal government's enforcements efforts.

It's On Us aims to shift the way we think about sexual assault by inspiring everyone to see it as their responsibility to do something, big or small, to prevent it. We all have a role to play and we need to be committed to creating an environment where sexual assault is unacceptable and survivors are supported. Like NO MORE the tools to move this movement are completely free. Take the pledge and show your commitment to making your campus a safe and assault free environment.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
