There is no reason to stop trying.

Start Accomplishing Your Dreams By Not Being Complacent

Everyone reaches some point in their life where something becomes too hard or too tiring and they decide to just let it happen. They do not want to try and persevere through it, they just do not want to deal with it. We are all guilty of this. If we become complacent enough to stop trying, then that's when we have to start worrying about ourselves.

There should never be a time in your life when you are satisfied with where you are. Be hungry to accomplish more. Every person can improve themselves in one way or another. No one is perfect and no one ever will be. But you can become the perfect you. The biggest way to improve yourself is to find out what you want out of life.

Every person has a dream. But not everyone is willing to chase it. Why? Because they are scared. Scared to fail, scared to fall and that it may be too hard to get back up. But how we respond to our failures is what defines us. The fear of failure is the biggest fear people have. But it is not necessarily that they are afraid to fail, it is that they are afraid if they do not fail.

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate, our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure." - Marianne Williamson

We are so caught up in expecting to fail and focusing on failure that we do not begin to realize what could happen if we do succeed. Your dream is out there and it is up to you to get it.

Those who sit back and desire more and dream for more are the ones who do not want to succeed bad enough. They say they want it, but only saying something does nothing. Those who go after what they want and are resilient about it are the role models. People like that are who help drive everyone to be better.

"As we let our own light shine we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others." - Marianne Williamson

Being afraid to try is the same as being complacent. You are fine with staying where you are because it is comfortable. A successful person has never been just comfortable where they are, they carve more from life. They just decide they are going to attack their dream and make it a reality.

If you want to be a doctor or engineer, or anything, then you have to decide at that moment that you will, "sacrifice what you are for what you will become." - Eric Thomas

Gaining a mindset that you will accomplish your tasks is the gateway to greatness and fulfilling what you want. Even the smallest tasks can lead to the big life changing ones. You cannot just go straight from saying you want something to having it, you must work for it. No one got anywhere in life just by saying or wishing. If that were true then I would be a billionaire basketball player.

People are scared to go after their tasks, failing is painful but it makes you stronger and shows the path it takes if you really want to succeed. Pain does not last forever, it is temporary, but it is necessary.

Think to yourself and ask if your dream is what you truly want, if you could give anything for that dream to come true; no matter what it takes, sweat and tears, late nights and early mornings. If that desire to be a better you and create a better life for yourself is really worth all the struggle and pain, then make it happen. Do not let your tiredness or "lack of time" stop you from getting ahead. Those are excuses and what lazy people use to show us who they really are. When you reach that point where it seems hopeless that is the point when you know you need to push on. Giving up is not an option when your dream is on the line.

Complacency kills dreams. Your life and desires are up to you, and you are the only one in charge of the path you take. If your dream is so amazing then make that path and don't stop walking.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
