With the new semester starting soon our spending all of our money on Starbucks will begin soon too. I don't know about you, but I love me some coffee in the morning to get me through those boring classes and also to sip on during my all-nighters studying for a test. So, I have compiled my favorite Starbucks drinks if you are searching for something new and tasty.

1. Caramel Macchiato

My go-to drink iced caramel macchiato. Y’all. This drink is just the perfect amount of sweetness/coffee in one little cup! I’m craving one just talking about it now. I usually grab this one before I go into work and since it’s not at all cold in Louisiana this time of the year, the ice doesn’t melt too quickly or the drink doesn’t make me freeze to death.

2. Medicine Ball

This is something I’ve only recently heard about via my favorite Instagram blogger. So this drink is not on the menu — secret menu HMU — but you can request it and they will make it right away for you. If they seem a bit confused, Google the medicine ball and the directions will pop right up. Oh, and did I mention they put honey in it AND some peppermint ?!?!? Just an overall great drink that is sure to get you feeling better ASAP.

3. Vanilla Latte

If you tend to keep it on the more basic side well then this one has your name all over it! There isn’t anything too fancy about it. A little coffee and a little cream. If you tend to stay away from calories this drink probably isn’t the one you want!

4. Caramel Brulée Latte

This is a seasonal drink (sadly) that I LOVE. It comes hot or in a frappuccino and I am not kidding it’s like eating dessert. So so so yummy! (This one also comes with whip cream on top and I tend to stray away from whip cream because of calories, so I just ask for no cream on top!)

5. Cinnamon Almond Milk Macchiato

Okay tongue twister but this is like all my favorite things in one drink. Something about cinnamon just makes me so so happy! I love this drink anytime of the year.

6. Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Brew

OK, so if you really like the taste of coffee, try this! It has an extremely strong coffee taste, but the sweet cream addition makes it perfect for coffee addicts (like me). Try this one next time you need a quick boost of energy.

7. Vanilla Bean Frappuccino

If you tend to not like the taste of coffee and just want a sweet treat, this one's for you! I’ve never met a soul that didn’t love this drink. It’s delicious and is as close to a milkshake as you can get. But, if we are counting calories, beware. This one is on the higher end as far as calories go!

8. Dark Mocha Frappuccino

This is if you like a cold drink, but you also like chocolate and coffee too. It’s yum with a coffee taste but I wouldn’t say too much coffee.

So, here are some things I’ve learned. Skip whip cream, the fewer calories the better. Some days you might have to buy multiple Starbucks (yes, those nights we stay up studying too late). Download the Starbucks app on your phone. Not only can you order from your phone, but you can also pay from your phone too. Which is awesome, but you also get free drinks and rewards for using the app. Lastly, for all my dog lovers... bring your doggie through the drive threw for a yummy pup-chino soon. Trust me, they’ll love it as much as I love everything on this menu and more!!!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
