The Road To Being Fully Healed Comes In Three Simple Stages

Be selfish for once, it is all part of healing yourself.

The Road To Being Fully Healed Comes In Three Simple Stages

It's true when people say time heals. There is no exact time when the pain you feel disappears because everyone heals differently, but with time it does go away.

I believe that there are three stages to one's healing. The suffering does not just go away all at once. You must face the storm to get to the rainbow. Without even knowing, you will experience all your emotions, and that is when you will end up where you are meant to be.

The first stage of healing is sorrow.

This will be the hardest and most painful stage you will go through. I cannot sugar coat this because it is impossible to take the easy way out for this stage. At some points, you will feel as if there are no more tears left to cry and that's okay.

Emptiness fills you and your heart, and there is no one or nothing that can help make that feeling go away. Every day that goes by is a blur to you because the only thing on your mind is the hurt you are dealing with.

This is the stage where you need to get all that sadness out of you so you can keep moving forward. It is so important to do this because if you try holding it all in, you will get nowhere. Time does heal, but you must help that healing process along the way.

The second stage is madness.

You will know when you have reached this stage because you start to feel less sorry for yourself and more angry at the situation. You know yourself better than anyone in the world and how strong of a person you are, and no one can take that away from you. When you realize this, anger takes over you and you begin to prove yourself to the world of how amazing you truly are.

Whoever or whatever has caused you pain, prove to them what kind of person you are, and make it known to them how big of a mistake they made. This anger built up inside you must be released, and that is what makes you into a stronger person than you already are.

The third stage is love.

Love can mean many different things. It does not always have to mean loving someone else or something, but it can mean loving yourself and the person you have become. It is crazy how you can be lying on the floor feeling sorry for yourself to be the person you have always dreamt to be. This is the stage when you stop worrying about what others think and start worrying about yourself.

Thinking for yourself is not always a selfish thing to do. It is a healthy decision you make when you are tired of impressing others. You learn to be alright when you are alone. You don't always need someone there with you to make you happy. Make yourself happy. When you learn to do this, you are healed.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
