Coming home from abroad is definitely a bittersweet thing! You get to come home and see your family but at the same time you are leaving what your life had consisted of for the past four months, which isn’t always an easy thing to do. But it is all a part of the experience and isn’t something that I would change.
Stage 1: Goodbyes
Over the experience, you meet so many new people from across the United States and even in the country you are studying in. Not only do you have to say goodbye to your friends but also to a piece of your heart that will always remain there. It is not as much as a goodbye but a see you later.
Stage 2: Flight
Prepare for one of the longest flights ever… Plus, you have to make yourself get on it and leave the amazing country you have been in.
Stage 3: Jetlag
LOL, just perfectly describes it. It is a constant struggle during the first few days back to not fall asleep and then when you are supposed to fall asleep.Stage 4: Sharing the AMAZING stories
One of the best things to hold and cherish the memories is to share the experiences with others. It’s interesting to see the impact and joy that sharing memories with others can do. It’s a reminder to hold on to the good times and positivity.
