Ah, yes, pre-finals. The source of most of actual finals stress. You'd rather worry about the finals when they actually come, but nope, out of everything going on in your life, they absolutely MUST be hyped.
1. Denial
Maybe it won't happen. Maybe there's no reason for the hype. A bunch of your finals are take-home anyway, so it's not like there's any need for all this stress. You'll definitely make it through unscathed this year.
2. Anger
What?!! Your professor dropped a last minute assignment? No way! Or you heard the dreaded words "Peer editing"? Your essay will be technically written, but that's a tiny time frame! Do they not know we have a lot on our plate as it is???
3. Bargaining
Maybe you do all the assignments well, hoping that it'll get your grade up. However, if you're on the brink of insanity, there will need to be some sacrifices. You'll have to BS the assignment in the class you're doing well in in favor of actually doing the other in the class you're struggling in well. It's fine. Keeping your brain intact is priceless.
4. Depression
A wave of doubt overcomes you. Maybe you'll miss the people you met in class. Or the professor. Maybe you're thinking your final paper isn't any good, or you're going to fail even though you studied, and that idiot who never did anything will pass. Plus, it's the holidays... Everything is out of control, and you need a minute.... hour... day... Yeah, day alone.
5. Acceptance
You've got this under control. You know your priorities. Move over finals week, this person is ready for you! You know what what's coming, and you've gotten everything you need done. Bring it on!
