I have just finished my fifth semester of college, and it is my fifth Winter Break at home here in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, where my family has resided for almost twenty years now. After a long semester of stress and hard work, coming home for the holidays and relaxing is an absolutely wonderful thing. However, this too is a certain process that has, as I have now come to know well, its very distinct stages.
Without further ado, here are, in my experience, the stages of being home for the break:
