The Seven Stages of Grief When Processing The Kourtney-Scott Breakup

It is not hard to admit that the relationship between Disick and Kardashian has been a roller coaster at best. Disick struggled with substance abuse, commitment issues and not knowing how to simply act his age. Viewers watched each week on "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" and saw just how difficult sustaining a healthy relationship with Disick could be for Kourtney. In the nine years that they were together, despite what the tabloids suggested, what her family insisted upon and what friends tried to explain, Kourtney always saw past his childish behavior and remained loyal. Being the dedicated fans that we were, we rooted for Scott through every fight, narcissistic comment and stint in rehab. We never lost faith that the Lord would prevail.

However, with recent leaked photos displaying a touchy-feely Disick being a little too up close and personal with stylist Chloe Bartoli, I think it’s time we finally accept what we have been denying for a long time: Kourtney must move on. She can do a lot better.

As with every monumental celebrity breakup, it’s important to take the time to process the ending of such an important era. So, as Disick continues on his downward spiral out of Kourtney's life, we must take a moment to try and get through this time of despair, together. Ugh, so-long Kourtney and Scott.

Here are the seven stages of grief when processing the Kourtney-Scott breakup.

1. Shock and Denial

Of course our first reaction to the break up rumors were "No way!" I mean, they have three genetically blessed children, a reality show empire, and nine years of relationship experience under their belts. Disick would never do that! Those pictures are definitely Photoshopped, right?

2. Pain and Guilt

Suddenly tons of magazines and TV shows began to confirm the breakup news. The reality of the breakup had begun to set in. Scott how could you do this to Kourtney? Nine years with her, and he still can't get his act together. What a disgusting monster!

3. Anger and Bargaining

Who would have thought that hating Scott Disick was possible? However a cheating man is not something anyone, much less a Kardashian will ever tolerate. Maybe if he had just gone to rehab one more time, none of this would have happened. What a pig.

4. Depression

Thinking back on the good old times when Kourtney and Scott were happy only makes it harder. We completely lose it over how things will never be the same! Time for a Kardashian binge-watching marathon. Where is my bottle of wine?

5. The Upward Turn

But maybe this is all for the best. Now that Kourtney isn't worried about Scott all the time, she can focus on more important things, like shoes or Rob's sock company or her kids.

6. Reconstruction and Working Through It

Actually, come to think of it, who ever needed Scott around anyway? Did he really ever do anything that great? Let's be real if Kourtney was Batman, he was definitely always Robin.

7. Acceptance and Hope

Now if Kourtney can move on without Scott just fine, then so can we! No one likes a cheating Lord anyway. Buh-bye Scott!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
