Working out in the morning seems great when you think about it, but the reality of doing it is a whole different story.
Here are the six stages of positive and negative thoughts that you have as you are completing your morning workout.
1. You have so much motivation the night before.
You set your alarm wicked early and believe in yourself that you will wake up that early. The alarm goes off at 6:15 a.m. and you feel like you were asleep for five minutes. Then you look outside and it’s dark out, which means that you should be sleeping.
2. You remember, though, that you signed up for that class at the gym.
You really should go. You know that you have a busy day and it is your only time to work out. Your bed is so warm and comfortable, though.
3. You finally decide to get out of bed and get ready.
It should not be too hard because you are prepared, and you already got out your clothes for your workout knowing that it would be too much effort at 6:15 a.m. You’re worried that you're being too loud and you’re going to wake up your roommate who looks so comfortable sleeping in bed. Now you’re wondering why you ever decided to get out of bed.
4. You are now out the door and walking to the gym.
You have accomplished so much already by just getting out of bed. It is freezing outside at 6:30 a.m. Also, no one else is crazy enough to be up right now. Campus looks deserted.
5. You get to the gym and suddenly, you are so awake.
You’re ready to workout. You are still questioning, though, if you had to get up so early when you catch a glimpse at the time.
